Hi there! Welcome to my blog where I share my passion for streetwear and fashion. Today I want to talk about one of my favorite colors: purple. Purple is not just a beautiful and vibrant color, it also has a rich and fascinating history that goes back to ancient times. Let me tell you more about it.
Purple is the color of royalty, power and wealth. In ancient Rome, only the emperor was allowed to wear a Tyrian purple cape trimmed in golden threads. Tyrian purple was a very expensive dye made from the mucous of sea snails called murex. It took thousands of snails to produce just a few grams of dye, so it was a luxury that only the elite could afford. The color was also known as Phoenician purple, because it was first discovered by the Phoenicians, who lived on the coast of what is now Lebanon.
Purple was also highly valued in ancient Greece, where it was associated with prestige and honor. The color was used for the robes of magistrates, generals and priests. It was also worn by athletes who won the Olympic games. Purple clothing was made from wool or linen dyed with Tyrian purple or other natural sources, such as lichen, shellfish or berries.
Purple has always been a symbol of creativity, mystery and spirituality. It is a color that inspires me to express myself and my vision through my streetwear brand. I use purple as one of my brand colors along with gold, because they create a striking contrast that catches the eye and makes a statement. Purple represents my passion for fashion and my respect for its history. Gold represents my ambition and my desire to shine. And both colors are a symbol of royalty.Â
